A quadrant hinge machined to the tolerance the install actually demands. The curved quadrant arm sweeps through a mortise in the box wall, so the lid opens, stops, and stays — the look of a high-end humidor or presentation box, with no visible lid stay.

Quadrant hinges are the install that humbles people. The arm has to track a curved mortise on both sides, and a hinge that's even slightly off binds, racks, or won't close flush. This one is cut to exact tolerance so the arm runs true and the two sides match. The hardware can't save a bad mortise — but it won't be the reason a good one fails.
