A Humidor Built with Purpose

Carl Tese, a furniture maker, is known for creating statement pieces using highly figured veneer. His latest work is a tabletop, cedar-lined cigar humidor with a cognac display below. This reflects both his precision and refined sense of creativity.

Standing 18 inches high, 14 wide, and 10 deep, the humidor is built from dyed anigre, curly maple, and bird’s eye maple.

The combination of these veneers creates a layered contrast, giving the piece a sophisticated visual depth. A black stingray leather insert tops the lid, adding a sleek, modern accent to the overall look.

For smooth movement and durability, Carl used Brusso’s HD-638 Quadrant Hinges and L-37 Pivot Hinges.
