     "This box is made of solid Granadillo. The sides of the box are tapered to 3 degrees and the top features an original design Marquetry of Crocus flowers which is made up of both dyed and natural veneers. The Background is Grey Elm veneer. I used the Brusso SR-638 side rail hinges due to their superior quality, beauty, and ease of repeatedly dead-on mounting. The lid pull is made of Spalted Tamarind and the splines are of Quilted Maple. This box went to its new home in Canada. I am a long-time furniture maker here in Granbury, Texas and when we are not in a pandemic I teach Marquetry at the Austin School of Furniture and Design in Austin Texas.
