"I'm a retired electrical engineer and got into woodworking when I retired 12 years ago. Since then, I've grown to love incorporating marquetry in all my work, probably because of the satisfaction I get from seeing the end results of a precision design and layout. The marquetry for this little jewelry box is made with dyed Koto, big leaf maple and burl walnut veneers. The box itself is from a beautiful piece of quilted chocolate maple, a Christmas present from my wife. The drawers are lined with imported Japanese washi paper. And of course, the box would not be complete without the use of Brusso's JB-101 stop hinges, the only ones I use for my finest designs."
