This box was submitted to us by customer John Triplett, a land surveyor and collector of surveying antiques.

I collect and restore vintage surveying instruments. This surveying sextant, about 100 years old, came to me with the original box missing one hinge and one latch. Needing to replace the hinges, Brusso's CB-303 hinge was a perfect fit and the only acceptible replacement I could find, and required absolutely no work or alteration other than re-drilling the holes.
It was important to not further damage the USNO certification numbers stamped next to the hinge, so this was an additional consideration. The Brusso hinge is also substantially better material than the original, and offers better strength to help protect the instrument as well as nicely complimenting the finish.
